The wedding between Emperor Leopold I and Claudia Felicitas of Tyrol is probably the most important historical event that has ever taken place in Graz. Back then, in the autumn of 1673, the young empress stayed at Schloss Eggenberg during the wedding celebrations. To mark the occasion, the imperial opera director Antonio Draghi composed his politically allusive ballet opera Gl'Incantesimi disciolti (HAPPINESS ENCHANTED). To mark the 400th anniversary of the palace, Art House 17, under the direction of Michael Hell, reconstructed this festive opera as part of the Styriarte festival and performed it in a spectacular production by Mareike Franz and Thomas Höft in the Planetary Hall at Schloss Eggenberg. Lilli Hartmann's life-size puppets take centre stage in the highly acclaimed performances.
Die Hochzeit zwischen Kaiser Leopold I. und Claudia Felicitas von Tirol ist wahrscheinlich das bedeutendste historische Ereignis, das in Graz je stattgefunden hat. Damals, im Herbst des Jahres 1673, wohnte die junge Kaiserin in den Tagen der Hochzeitsfeierlichkeiten im Schloss Eggenberg. Zu diesem Anlass komponierte der kaiserliche Opernintendant Antonio Draghi seine politisch anspielungsreiche Ballettoper Gl’Incantesimi disciolti, zu Deutsch Das verwunschene Glück. Zum 400-jährigen Jubiläum des Schlosses hat Art House 17 unter Leitung von Michael Hell diese Festoper im Rahmen des Festivals Styriarte rekonstruiert und in einer spektakulären Inszenierung von Mareike Franz und Thomas Höft im Planetensaal des Schlosses Eggenberg aufgeführt. Die lebensgroßen Puppen von Lilli Hartmann spielen dabei eine zentrale Rolle in den umjubelten Vorstellungen.
